Art for Pride - Celebrating Pride with a "Monochrome Rainbow"

Image
The month of June, is the real month of love! June is a month of many significance for me personally, and here in South Africa - with my partner of almost 10 years' celebrating his birthday on 01 June, to the celebration of 'Youth Day' in South Africa, commemorating the Soweto Uprising on 16 June 1976, where more than 20 000 pupils from Soweto began a protest march, clashing with police and violence that ensued during the following weeks. Approximately 700 people, many of them youths, were killed as a result of this uprising.  Internationally, we celebrate International Pride Month and this is what inspired me the most about our month of love. There are a legion of unhappiness and unrest all over the world, with the recent Air India plane crash, the marched and uprising in the USA about immigrants and the Tump administration, the ongoing war in the middle east, with the recent attack on Iran by Israel, and in return, Iran retaliating.  We live in a world of political domina...

Divine Ambiguity and Love, with Pride

Image
This is not a face—it is a feeling, drawn in love, crowned in pride. A gaze carved from myth and mirror, this portrait honours the sanctity of in-between spaces. Gender dissolves, gold flows, and ambiguity reigns divine. The work transcends celebration, becoming a shrine to the multifaceted, the fluid, and the fiercely proud. “ Divine Ambiguity and Love, with Pride”  - Instalment 3 of Triptych: “Monochrome Rainbow” -  Size: A2 -  Unframed (Framed options available, please enquire) Price: £525 Enquiries:  caelthorneart@outlook.com

Dear Angel, Cry Us A Rainbow, With Love, Your Demons

Image
A love note from shadow to light, from mask to soul. Collectors Caption An open letter in paint and pencil, this piece fuses celestial and infernal metaphors to explore queer emotionality—where joy and pain often cohabitate. The divine cries not because it is weak, but because it feels everything. Gold floods the cracks, offering grace. Pride, in this context, is what rises from sorrow: layered, lush, defiant. “Dear Angel, Cry Us A Rainbow, With Love, Your Demons”  - Instalment 2 of Triptych: “Monochrome Rainbow”  - Size: A2  - Unframed Price: £455 Purchase Enquiries:  caelthorneart@outlook.com

Aesthetically Bleeding Love With Pride

Image
This work reminds us that queerness, too, is survival with style. Collectors Caption Gold tears, fragmented forms, and deliberate symmetry meet in this haunting portrait of vulnerability. A study in contrasts—sharp versus soft, beauty versus brokenness—the piece bleeds not just colour, but meaning. Within its precision is a yearning: to be seen wholly, not in parts. Here, pride is not a performance but an ache made beautiful. “Aesthetically Bleeding Love With Pride”  - Instalment 1 of Triptych: “Monochrome Rainbow” -  Size: A2 -  Unframed Price: £435 Purchase Enquiries:  caelthorneart@outlook.com

The "Great Female Elephant" - A Symbol of Majestic Respect and Unconditional Love

Image
Caelthorne stuns again with his latest creation: "The Great Female Elephant" Mixed Media on A2 Fabriano (200gsm) Charcoal, Graphite, Ink & Metallic Acrylic By Caelthorne A strong, yet delicate force radiates from Caelthorne's latest artwork: " The  Great Female Elephant" —a drawing not merely of just an African woman, but one that represents all women who carry generations on their shoulders. Strong monochrome colors, suggests that Caelthorne did not want to influence the viewer's own opinion or emotional relation, by influence of bold colors. "This time, it's important that the soul of the woman is seen, than merely just her appearance - whoever she may be" says Caelthorne.  Resilience, content and a feeling of "home" comes to mind with this portrait with a dash of gold, to emphasize the "rich" and "wealth" of women - almost metaphoric of a crown woven from lineage, life, struggle, past, successes, celebrat...
